Primarily fruits, nuts, and seeds
A fruitarian diet is a type of raw vegan diet that predominantly consists of fresh fruits, with the inclusion of nuts and seeds to provide additional nutrients and variety. This diet emphasizes the consumption of foods that are botanically classified as fruits, which may include sweet fruits like apples, bananas, and berries, as well as fatty fruits such as avocados and olives. Nuts such as almonds, walnuts, and cashews, along with seeds like sunflower, chia, and flaxseeds, are also incorporated for their protein, healthy fat, and micronutrient content. The diet excludes all animal products, vegetables, grains, legumes, processed foods, and any food items that require cooking. Adherents typically aim to eat raw, unprocessed plant foods that can be consumed without harming the plant, aligning with ethical, environmental, or health-related motivations.
