Compliant with Jewish dietary laws

1050 recipesreligious

A Kosher diet adheres to Jewish dietary laws known as kashrut, which dictate the types of foods that can be consumed and how they must be prepared. Permitted animals must have split hooves and chew their cud, such as cows and sheep, while seafood must have fins and scales. Meat and dairy products cannot be eaten together or cooked using the same utensils. All meat must come from animals that are slaughtered in a specific ritual manner called shechita. Processed foods must be certified Kosher by a reliable authority to ensure they contain no non-Kosher ingredients or were not prepared on equipment that also processes non-Kosher items.
